This demo leverages asynchronous programming techniques in .NET 8 to fetch and display data from the Art Institute of Chicago's API. By using async methods, we ensure that the application remains responsive and performs efficiently, even when working with large datasets from external sources.

The Art Institute API provides access to a wide array of artworks, including those in the public domain. Our application showcases how to filter these artworks by style, demonstrating how asynchronous API calls and caching can optimize performance and enhance the user experience.

About the Art Institute of Chicago

Founded in 1879 as the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious art museums in the United States. It relocated to its current location in Grant Park in 1893, coinciding with the World’s Columbian Exposition. The museum has expanded multiple times, including the addition of the Modern Wing in 2009, designed by Renzo Piano. The AIC is associated with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, fostering a unique blend of museum and art education.

The AIC's collection includes nearly 300,000 works spanning 5,000 years of history.
